About me

I am not attached to places, but to people and smells. To family. That’s where I belong. Home is where they are, even if I open different doors and say, “I’m home.” Sometimes I talk nonsense and I love to eat.

My name is Fülöp Tímea, I am an actress. I was born in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

I partly owe my chosen profession to my family, as I have heard encouragement many times: “You’ll become an actress or a lawyer.” It was unpleasant to even think about the latter, so I embarked on the path of acting. Slowly, as a little child. Reciting on a small red stool, winning recitation competitions, from drama groups to university, until those certain boards. Sometimes they creak and squeak loudly, perhaps filled with nails, they can be two meters high or at ground level, far from the audience, or within arm’s reach, but when I step on them, they’re mine.

After Novi Sad and Subotica, I now live in Budapest. I love this city. Its buildings, parks, pubs and restaurants, theaters and their staff.

I have never felt misplaced or at the wrong time for a single moment. I always buzz where I should be. I believe it’s written somewhere.

I am egocentric, I love attention, colors, applause, and chat. The sanguine personality type describes me from head to toe.

If the theater were a family member, it would be the crazy, positive aunt from Canada. It liberates me, presents opportunities, encourages, scolds, gossips secrets, and teaches selflessness. If even a single viewer’s eyes sparkle, then my journey here was not in vain.

Long live the standing ovations, the movie screens, the warmed theater seats, the people who sit in them, those who make the boards crackle, good beers, and of course, love!
